Terms & Conditions

Effective 17 July 2026 · PassMate is operated by Togrul Agayev, an independent developer (“we”, “us”).

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using PassMate (the app and this website, together the “Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

PassMate is a zero-knowledge password and credentials organizer. Your vault is encrypted on your device; we store and sync only ciphertext and cannot read your data. The Service is currently provided free of charge; paid features may be introduced in the future with reasonable notice.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, your master password, and your recovery key safe.
  • If you lose both your master password and your recovery key, your data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. This is a deliberate property of the zero-knowledge design.
  • You agree to keep independent backups of information you cannot afford to lose, for example using the app's encrypted export.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to store or distribute unlawful material, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' data, interfere with its operation, or reverse the Service's security mechanisms except as permitted by law. We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in abuse.

5. Availability, warranty and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. PassMate is an independent project of a single developer; while it is built and operated with care, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data caused by lost credentials, device failure, or discontinuation of the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

6. Changes and discontinuation

We may modify or discontinue the Service. If the Service is to be discontinued or these terms materially change, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account (and all server-side data) at any time from within the app. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
